Being social is a basic human need. It’s also something we often take for granted until we can no longer do it. Social distancing,  or the act of removing yourself from society for an extended period of time, can be done voluntarily and unexpectedly.

It can be hard to do social distancing on your own. It can seem like there are not many people around who you know or who you might want to be friends with. But the internet is full of people coming up with new ideas, inventing new sports and pastimes. You can also try this list of 20 things that might help.

1. Keep a Routine

We all had routines when things were not chaotic. Now is a time when we need to stick to our routines even more. If you work from home, it can be easier to make your own schedule and follow your routine. But it is important to keep doing the same thing so that when you go back to work and life is normal again, it won’t be a big surprise.

2. Watch NETFLIX Shows.

Netflix has a lot of good series. I recently finished a bunch of different episodes of one show and almost watched all the shows on my Netflix account.

I want to watch the other content that is available in different regions of Netflix. I searched for it and found out how to watch the different region content on Netflix using VPNs. And now I will do so because this time it is my super entertainment system, and I am interested in watching all sorts of different content.

3. Create a workspace

It is ok to wear your pajamas every day. But it may not be good for you. To stay in shape, get up and dress like you would on any other day. You don’t need to put on fancy clothes, just shower, change your clothes, and act like anyone else would in this situation.

If you work from home, it is easy to think that you work from bed. But this will not be good for your mental health. If your home is small, then at least make a part of the room as an office and do not sleep there.

4. Get Organized

Now is the best time to clean your room. Get rid of all the stuff you don’t need. If something doesn’t make you happy or it doesn’t do anything, then get rid of it! Getting organized can help tell you about who you are and what’s important to you.

5. Connect With Friends n Family

This is a good chance to connect with friends and loved ones. You can do this by text, or on social media. I like the word physical distancing because it means you are not socializing at all. But people need to stay social no matter what, even if it is online.

Every day, try to talk with your friends and family. You might want to host a virtual dinner or game night to stay connected. It is important that you talk with people who live alone because they could be feeling lonely and scared.

6. Grow food at home

If you want to do something and don’t want to go crazy, then this is the best activity. Grow some healthy food that is organic. You can grow vegetables in your garden. You don’t need to dig up your lawn and find a spot in the ground for vegetables.

If you have leftover seeds, you could use them to grow food too. But if you’ve been killing houseplants for years or aren’t sure where to start, it’s not all that complicated. You can easily get tips from youtube videos as well.

7. Treat yourself to good food

This is a good time to treat yourself and to make yourself different and tasty food to eat. You have all the time in the world for this and there are many yummy foods you can make. If you are struggling with cooking, there are many videos on social media that will help you.

8. Start YOGA

Staying home and doing yoga is one of the best things you can do. It keeps your mind strong and healthy. If you feel like you are not doing well, then take fifteen minutes to do some yoga and it will make you feel more relaxed.

9. Shut the News off

If you watch the news for a long time or scroll through social media that is full of sad posts, then it can create a situation like post-traumatic stress.

It’s better to watch the news every day, but only for a little while. If you have young kids at home, don’t let them watch TV or play on the computer very long. And don’t watch the news right before bed, because then you won’t sleep well.

10. Do Exercise

Exercising is important. We always say, “I don’t have time to exercise.” You only need 15-20 minutes three times a week, but now you can exercise at home and you still have time too for help watching YouTube videos.

This is the best activity to do when you’re at home and don’t have anything else to do. It will make you feel better, help you spend time, and will keep you in shape, and if you are getting all these things what else do you need.

11. Make a list of things to do

Sitting in front of the TV can make you feel bored. One way to keep from feeling this way is to do the work that you have not done before.

It’s never too late to learn something new. If you want to learn a new language, how to fix your bike, or play an instrument, now is the time!

Dust off your old guitar and learn (or re-learn) how to play! There are many things on YouTube you can ask questions about. It will keep boredom away, and it might make your brain stronger too.

13. Go for Walk with your Pet

Do not forget to let your pet outside. They can be mad if they do not get to go outside. Take them for a walk around the block. This will make them happy and you’ll feel better too!

Many people are watching TikTok. People are making videos on the app. It is a fun app. Some make videos with friends, others solo. There are many ideas to make fun videos and you can also use them to make videos and it will keep you entertained as well.

There are countless DIY Social Distance Activities to embrace during this time. Scrapbooking, painting, and digital photo books are some of my favorites.

16. Rearrange your home Furniture

Do you want to move the furniture around in your bedroom, living room, etc.? It is now time for you to change the place with new furniture.

17. Start doing SELF-CARE

It is really important to take care of yourself while going through a tough time. You can do this by writing in a journal, being grateful, meditating, taking baths with bubbles, and using face masks.

18. Start your youtube channel

You can have a side job that you really want to do. You can find a topic to talk about in your videos and share it with people who might enjoy it. Give them tips on how they can do what you also like to do. There is money waiting for those who make videos and the more views you get, the more money you’ll make.

Sit still and watch your breath. Do not think about anything else. Be quiet. This can be hard because you might have a lot of thoughts inside your head, but it is worth it in the end if you do this for a longer time.

20. Start blogging

People have been wanting to start their own blog, but they do not have time. Now you will have time. Start blogging by using all of the tips and tricks you find online. I am using BlueHost, WordPress, and the Creativo Theme.
