As a result, many who have read the manga are unsatisfied after watching the anime. But, well, that’s just my opinion. Anyway, I’ll include both the anime and manga ratings for this list. After reading this list, you may repeat the experiment with other anime you watch. I promise 95% of the anime will be rated lower than the manga. Mai is informed that she is one of the twelve girls who carry the markings mentioned above and that she must use her powers to protect everyone from the orphans – horrific beings with abilities similar to HiME children. Mai is hesitant to get involved since she is protective of her brother. Still, more HiMEs appear around her, each with distinctly different motivations and intentions for exploiting their powers.
