How to Change Brightness on Windows 10 PC

Method 1: Manually Change Brightness in Windows 10
You can set the Brightness of your PC manually according to your need. To do so, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: First of all, you have to open the Settings by pressing the Windows key + l present on your keyboard.
Step 2: Now go to Systems and then Display.
Step 3: Use the “change brightness” slider present beneath the Brightness and colour option. The Brightness will decrease by sliding it on the left side, whereas it will increase by sliding it on the right side. You can choose according to your preference.
In case if the brightness slider option is unavailable, it can be because you are using an external monitor. But you can still change the Brightness by using the buttons present on your monitor, or in other cases, and you may need to update the display driver. You can now use the Windows Mobility Center to adjust the Brightness of your PC. To do so, you have to press Windows key + X present on your keyboard and then click on Mobility Center.
Here you will be provided with the Display brightness slider. You can use it to adjust the Brightness of your screen.
Method 3: Automatically Adjust Brightness for Battery Life
You can let the device to adjust Brightness according to its battery life. It can save your Battery as lowering the brightness results in less use of a battery. Your Windows 10 is provided with a self battery saver feature, and you can make it work by enabling it.
To do so, you have to enable this function by following these steps:
Step 1: First of all, open the Settings by pressing the Windows + l key present on your keyboard.
Step 2: Then go to System and then click on Battery. Now scroll down to Battery saver settings.
Step 3: Click on Turn battery saver on automatically if my battery falls to tick it. You can now use the slider to adjust the battery level percentage that you want at which feature can enable it. If you have adjusted it to 20%, the feature will enable itself when the battery percentage is 20%.
Now you have to tick on Lower screen brightness while in battery saver. You can’t choose the brightness level at the time of enabling this feature. It will get adjust by itself.

Method 5: Use Adaptive Brightness in Windows 10
Your monitor’s Brightness must match with surrounding light for the comfort of your eyes. You can set your monitor to adjust its light according to surrounding light by itself only if your device has a brightness sensor feature. Follow these steps to enable the brightness sensor feature:
Step 1: First of all, you have to open the Settings by pressing the Windows key + l present on your keyboard
Step 2: Now go to Systems and then Display.
Step 3: If your device has a brightness sensor feature, you will see the option, Change Brightness automatically when lighting change, you have to switch it to On.
This option will be missing if your device doesn’t have a brightness sensor feature.

Most probably, the shortcut key for Brightness is provided with a sun icon. The key combination may vary according to your keyboard model. Hold and activate the Fn key. Now at the same time, press the corresponding function.
